Julep Maven Box Giveaway and Review - Contest Closed

Julep was kind enough to send me a sample Maven Box to review for my readers. Julep is a nail polish and nail care company and the Maven program gives you access to some of the best Julep products each month. You can take a simple style quiz on their website and you will receive a box filled with their nail polishes and nail related each month, tailored for you based on your style quiz results.

Julep is also going to giveaway one box to a lucky reader. Simply comment below that you'd like to enter the giveaway, I'll use random.org to pick a winner and Julep will send the winner a free Maven Box! You must be a follower of my blog, of course.

Now, here are some pictures and a review of the box I received.

Julep Maven Box
Above is a picture of the contents of my Julep Maven Box. This package includes a full size facial for hands scrub, which is an exfoliant that removes dead skin, leaving your skin super soft. There are two full-size nail polishes in Whitney, a taupey gray with a hint of purple, and Nicole, a red with tons of shimmer. There's also a jar of cute, silver star nail art that you can put on-top of any polish and seal with a topcoat. Finally, there were two samples of Julep hand cream.

Julep Whitney and Julep Nicole
Swatch of Julep Whitney
Overall, I did enjoy each product. I tested out the polishes and hand scrub each for one week. The Whitney polish wore pretty well. There was some gentle tip wear after two days, but I didn't notice any major chipping until the fourth day. And by day six it was time for a new polish, so this polish did well with wearing. The majority of polishes last five to seven days for me, so this one was right in the middle as far as wearing time. As far as quality of pigmentation and thickness, it was really great. I only had to use one coat for it to be opaque and it dried quickly and with a very glossy finish, which I love.

Quick Swatch of Julep Nicole

Julep Hand Cream

The Julep Polish Nicole didn't wear as well as Whitney, but was still very pretty. I noticed chipping on day three and by day four to five it was time for a new polish. So it doesn't do the best on wearing time, but often polishes with a lot of shimmer, such as Nicole has, do chip more quickly than creme polishes, like Whitney. Highly shimmered polishes usually wear only three to six days on me, so again, this shade wore as normal for me. Pigmentation of Nicole was great. One coat and it was opaque and it dried very quickly, in about one minute.

Julep Facial For Hands
The Julep Facial Hand Scrub is amazing. It left my hands feeling sooo soft and smooth. This was my favorite product in the box, which is unusual for me because usually I'm all about the nail polish, so it shows it must be a great product. If you have sensitive skin do be gentle with the scrub because it can hurt a bit if you rub too hard because it has little rough bits to do the exfoliating. For me personally, I'd like for it to have a little less bit less of the rough pieces just because I do have sensitive skin and I think the exfoliating job would still be the same. However, if you have coarse hands, though, you probably wouldn't even notice this and will see the greatest change as well. Follow up with a lotion afterwards and your hands will feel smoother than ever.

Julep Facial For Hands
Some notes important notes about Julep. Their nail polishes are free of DBP, Toluene and formaldehyde and they also donate $1 from every nail polish to organizations that support and empower women.

I think the Julep Maven Box Program is neat program and is a great way to try out new products each month. It's nice to get something in the mail besides bills and it's nice having a surprise because you can choose not to know what is in each box. It's also an amazing deal at the normal price of $19.99, I believe each box is valued at around $40 give or take. And with my coupon code-glamatronic, you do get the 50% off making it only $9.99, which is an amazing deal to take advantage of so you can try out the Maven Boxes and see if you like them.
