Butter London Nail Polish Spring 2012 Summer 2012 Collection Pictures, Overview

Here’s an overview and pictures of Butter London Spring 2012 & Summer 2012 Collection! I'm so excited for all the new spring beauty collections, aren't you!?
Butter London Creators had this to say about their new collection “What a season! Pops of neon colour everywhere, tempered by sherbet pastels and cool neutrals. It left us plenty to play with in the nail realm. I’ve mixed a couple of softer opaque shades in cantaloupe and pale pistachio, and followed up with an intense retro turquoise and slightly glittery hot pink. Finally, a quietly marvelous sheer oyster that packs a tiny punch with micro glitter particles for those seeking a new way to wear neutral. The message this season is KNOW who you are, then BE who you are! It’s all about the Individual this season, and the beauty world is yours to rule.”
As you may or may not know, Butter London is a UK brand (ie. Butter "London"). All of the names of the polishes are British slang terms. Now, I'm not quite sure if I know all the terms, but I'll try to decipher.. don't count on it being exactly right and I may just straight-up say.. hey, I don't even know what this means lol. If you are from the UK and happen to read this post, feel free to tell us the true meanings and/or correct me, it won't hurt my feelings at all : )
Butter London Bossy Boots
Bossy Boots - Light, opaque pistachio green.
Translation:
I would guess that this means about the same as the our American phrase "bossy pants", a playful way to call someone bossy,  but they use "bossy boots". And I know exactly why they don't say bossy pants.. in the UK pants means underwear. That'd be really funny to go to the UK and mistakenly call someone bossy underwear hahaha

Butter London Disco Biscuit
Disco Biscuit - Tropical hot pink with an undercurrent of tiny iridescent glitter particles
Translation
Okay, I have no idea what this means. I could take a wild guess and say... some sort of club food? I'm probably totally wrong.

Butter London Knackered
  • Knackered  -A sheer, twinkling oyster shade flecked with micro glitter particles.
Translation:
This word means tired.

Butter London Slapper
  • Slapper - A truly teal lacquer, bold and very bright.
Translation-I'm pretty sure this means the same as prostitute.. but it makes no sense to me why you'd name your nail polish prostitute. Maybe it's a UK joke that I don't get? Fill us Americans in if we are missing the joke.

Butter London Trout Pout

  • Trout Pout - An opaque shade of cantaloupe, pale and retro.
Translation - I believe this means very large lips that pucker like a fish.

So there you have the Butter London polishes. They are very pretty, maybe badly named or named to where we don't understand then, but hey, who cares.. it's the color that counts, right? Although, I do appreciate awesome names sometimes. I'm really looking forward to some swatches of Bossy Boots to see if it's as pictured or not. Trout Pout will be  a very pretty spring color and I'm wondering how the sparkles in Knacker will look in person.

What do you think of these new polishes? Which of these colors is your favorite Butter London Spring polish? Leave comments below!

Thanks for reading
XO - Glamatronic
