Glamatronic Couture Shop!

Hey everyone! If you have been keeping up with my posts on facebook, twitter, and on here as well, you know that I've been developing some eyeshadows and making jewelry!

I've been so excited about this and working really hard on everything! Here's a link to the shop, Glamatronic Couture

Although I do not have all of the shadows and jewelry up just yet, I do have several items in my shop if you want to check it out. I will do a little post about the shadows eventually as well as the jewelry I'm currently making out of polymer clay (Pegasus earrings and rings, Glittery Unicorn Rings, Rubber Ducky Earrings, Cameos, Bottles of Fairy Dust, and more!).

As far as the shadows go, I have up one, limited edition Christmas set called Holly Jolly Christmas! This set includes three glitters

  • Holly Jolly - A Red based glitter with green and silver sparkles
  • Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas - A holographic glitter with extra read and green sparkles
  • Reindeer Tears - A Gold Glitter with red and green sparkles

You can also buy each of these separately for $5 or the entire set for $13.50. They all come in 5 gram jars with a free sifter and a free sample with any pigment or glitter purchase... and I'm also giving out free pigment and glitter tip cards with each makeup purchase! Tons of freebies!

Plus... I do have a Halloween sale going on, 10% off with code GLAMHALLOWEEN, which ends on NOV.1, but I have a code just for my readers for 10% off through  November 7th GLAMBLOG1

Here are a few other shadows...

NEW ELF Elements Eyeshadow Shades Wheat, Driftwood, Aubergine, Navy - Swatches, Pictures, Review

ELF Elements Eyeshadow Swatches, Review - Aubergine, Wheat, Navy, Driftwood

ELF just released four new shades to their Elements eyeshadow line - Wheat, Driftwood, Aubergine and Navy. Each of these shades cost only $1 each, and are magnetized to fit into the ELF Elements Custom Compact with Mirror, also only $1.

New ELF Element Eyeshadows - Aubergine, Wheat, Driftwood, Navy
  • Aubergine is a nice, marroon shade. It is purple-based red, very deep and perfect for fall and winter.
  • Wheat is a light, golden tan sort of shade. This shade will look nice paired with Aubergine around the holidays.
  • Driftwood is a warm, golden brown. It is similar to Wheat, but a little darker and much more brown toned. This is a fun and shimmery neutral.
  • Navy is a medium to dark blue. It is not nearly as dark as it appears in the pan, but it is a nice, shimmery blue shade with greyed undertones, which is great for the winter months.
So I have to say that these shadows have went downhill. The other shades of ELF Element eyeshadows were crazily pigmented. You could just barely touch your finger to the shadows and pick up completely opaque color. These I found myself swatching over three or four times to get the color I did above in the swatches, which isn't bad, but it is far below quality of the previous Element shadows. This makes me very, very sad. I was looking forward to more greatness, but they aren't. I hope they haven't changed the formula to a lower quality and that the other shades are still great. So, Elf, if you read this, please make these the same quality as the other shadows. It's 100% apparent that these are not nearly as great as the other shades.

New ELF Elements eyeshadows, Aubergine, Wheat, Driftwood, Navy
Now that I have that rant out. These shades are right on target with that of a holiday palette. You can use and mix these four colors to make tons of holiday and winter themed eye looks. However, I do feel that Wheat and Driftwood are very close in color. I think they should have either may Wheat more golden or Driftwood dark so that you could use them together. You can still use these together, but you may or may not be able to really tell them apart.

Navy upsets me the most, because with dark colors, you need them to be very, very pigmented or they are pretty much useless for smokey eyes. If you want to do a dark, smokey eye, using a washed out dark will look really bad. You can use this to define your crease a bit, but you won't be able to use it alone for a smokey looks. You can of course use it with a black base and it will more than likely work that way for smokey eyes, though.

Aubergine is okay. It could be much more pigmented, but after three or four layers, it did build up to a decent pigmentation. I can only imagine how pretty it would have been if it were as pigmented as the older colors and looked like it does in the pot. These all look so much better in the pots than swatched, which will always make everyone disappointed.

Now, honestly, compared to drugstore shadows, these may be better. At only $1, these are much better than the $4 Covergirl shadows and the Rimmel shadows by far. So if you are deciding between these shadows and drugstore shadows, you will like these.

Overall, I'd say give them a try. You get this entire compact and four shadows for only $5. But I would recommend all the other shades if don't have them yet, Golden, Dusk, Ivory, Moondust, Sage and Mocha are a few of my favs.

Thanks for reading!

New ELF $1 Liquid Eyeliner Shades Swatches, Pictures, Review - New ELF Products 2011

Hey everyone! So I have a few new ELF swatches to show you. They've come out with a few new products and shades recently. I have to say the new eyeliner shades are amazing. I wasn't sure if I would like them or not, but they are very pretty.
Also, at the end of my series of posts on the ELF Products, I'm going to do an article which sum up a few new and older ELF items that are their best of the best. You can then decide to get the products as Holiday Gifts for friends or for yourself!

Let's get to the pictures and swatches of the new ELF $1 Liquid Eyeliners!

NEW ELF Liquid Eyeliners!

  • Teal is a very gorgeous, metallic turquoise shade. I honestly wasn't expecting these to be as good as they were. Their other shades of liquid liner were okay, but nothing special. These are all very pretty and they stay on all day long. The swatches I put on my hand were there the entire day after hand washing and everything. I had to use a makeup wipe at the end of the day to get it all off my hand!
  • Cobalt Blue is a nice medium to dark blue, also gorgeous and metallic.
  • Forest Green is almost a dark olive green and is also a metallic finish. This shade, as well as the other two shades, are going to look great as a pop-of-color to neutral eyes and smokey eyes.

ELF $1 Liquid Eyeliner Swatches - Teal, Cobalt Blue Forest Green
Above are swatches of Teal, Cobalt Blue and Forest Green ELf Liquid Liners

My one complaint about these eyeliners is the brush. The brush applicator of the ELF $1 Liquid liners is pretty bad. I can't really tell if it's even a brush or if it's a brush-shaped plastic piece. It's really hard, not flexible and if you aren't good at putting on liner, you will have a very hard time with applying these. I found it a bit hard myself and I've put on liquid liner millions of times. I know you can expect something perfect for only $1, but I think they could improve the brush and still keep the price where it is. If not, it's fine, I still love these based on the gorgeous colors.

I do have to say, don't expect all the other ELF liquid liner shades to be this gorgeous. For some reason, these are just much better and stay on far longer than the other shades. I don't know if they changed the formula or what, but I'm really liking these a lot better than the older colors of $1 Liquid Liners.

I really hope ELF makes a studio liquid liner in colors like that at an even better quality. They would sell tons of liners if they had all the shades of liner that Urban Decay, Stila and Make Up For Ever Have because these liners have no low-end competition for shades of hot pink, blood red, lime green liners and etc.

NEW ELF FALL 2011 Shades and Products - Elf Mineral Primer Blush, ELf $1 Liners, ELF Studio Body Shimmer, ELF Elements Eyeshadows
(I hope you enjoy the little preview above. All of these products will be reviewed in addition to a few extras that aren't swatches in the picture)

I think ELF's $1 products are okay, but don't live up to the quality of many other $1 products that have recently stepped up their game, such as Wet N Wild and NYC. Don't get me wrong, there are some ELF $1 products I can't live without, these new liners are especially amazing.

I feel like the quality of ELF's studio line, which is only $3, compares to products more in the price range of $7-$12, sometimes more depending on the product. Yes, I understand their studio items don't always match up to MAC and other brands, but the price is what.. 5 times less? Sometimes they do actually live up to higher ends and even when they don't, I feel as thought I'm getting an amazing deal for the price, anyway. And I love that I can get good quality products for cheaper. It makes me buy 50x more things (which I think is their entire goal haha)    : D

ELF $1 Liquid Eyeliner in Teal, Cobalt Blue, Forest Green. NEW Fall 2011 Shades!
I can only imagine how great the quality of ELF would be if they had a super luxury line or something like that, that actually were the same price as MAC. I'm thinking we would be getting Gucci and Channel quality products if they made a range of $15 eyeshadows or liners if their $3 liners are already pretty close to that of MAC. What do you think?

Anyway, I totally just went on tangent of good and bad things about ELF when this is supposed to be an eyeliner review haha! I'm not going to edit it and just leave it in there because they are my true thoughts and will probably help people who are new to the ELF products have an idea of what they are getting. Don't be afraid to send me a message or comment if you want to know anything about ELF! I've tried everything from them and can help you decide for sure  : )

New ELF Mineral Primer Blush Swatches, Pictures, Review - New ELF Shade!

ELF Mineral Eye Primer in Blush

ELF has come out with several new products, one of which is a new shade for their popular mineral eye prime called Blush.

Below is an image of some of the new ELF products I will reviewing over the next few days, including a swatch of the new Mineral Primer Shade, Blush.

ELF Mineral Primer Blush, NEW ELF $1 Eyeliner, New ELF Studio Body Shimmer, New ELF Element Eyeshadows

As you can see from the picture, The ELF Mineral Primer Blush swatch is in the upper left corner and has tint to it that the normal primer doesn't. The tint isn't very dramatic, it's a nude shade with a hint of pink. As far as formula and texture, it feels exactly the same as the first shade of ELF Mineral Eye Primer. So unless you just really want to the new shade or you're out of your other primer, there is no difference between the original and the new shade other than the slight color.

NEW ELF Mineral Eye Primer in Blush

Overall, I do like the ELF Mineral Eye primer and the blush is very nice color. I don't think it will make the shadows look any different from the original shade, though.

I will be doing a separate review for all the other items pictures above as well as a few other new ELF products, so be sure to check back soon!

If you have a polish addict friend or just a friend who loves sparkles, these sets would be perfect to give them as gifts. They have so many different sets to choose from, you will definitely find the perfect one for your friends and family members.

Below are pictures of all the amazing gift sets available for the Let It Snow Collection. Yes, there are several of them. I think they have almost every pairing imaginable in these sets, which is a great thing because you can usual get a discount if you purchase the sets : )

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set  -Belle Of The Ball Set - Includes Champagne  Bubbles, Tinsel Town & free ornament.
China Glaze Bell of the Ball set includes two polishes, Champagne Bubbles and Tinsel Town, plus a free decorative ornament. If you have a friend or family member who collects ornaments or maybe you have a tradition of always buying a family member an ornament, this set would be neat way to give them a unique ornament with the bonus of some pretty, holiday polishes. These are both a bit more cool toned and perfect for someone who loves wearing sparkles in the winter.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Berry Sweet - Includes Velvet Bow, Ring In The Red, & A Berry Hand Lotion
China Glaze Berry Sweet Gift sets includes the fab reds of the Let It Snow Collection. In this set, you get a bonus Berry Scented Hand Lotion. This would be a great gift bundle for mothers because you have the option of wearing just the creme, topping the creme with glitter for a holiday flare, or going all out with the glitter. Plus, you have the lotion, which is something mom's tend to love.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Carry Me Away - Tinsel Town, Poinsettia,  Icicle,  & a Manicure Case with Nail File
China Glaze Carry Me Away for the Holidays Gift set includes four nail polishes in Tinsel Town, Poinsettia and has a bonus carrying case for manicures and a nail file. This set would be fun for a kid, teen or a friend who loves keeping their nails neat. I can see a pre-teen putting all of their polishes and nail file in the carrying case and taking it with them to show all of their friends and give them manicures, making it a fun gift for the younger crowd.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Baby It's Cold Outside - Icicle, Blue Year's Eve, Poinsettia & Finger Gloves
China Glaze Baby It's Cold Outside includes three polishes and a set of gloves. I see this set being great for teens. The finger-less gloves trendy and you get a variety of shades for winter, which I think is something a teen would love.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Deck The Halls - Includes Glitter Garland, Champagne Bubbles, & Limited Edition Berry Cuticle Oil
China Glaze Deck the Halls gift set comes with Glitter Garland and Champagne Bubbles nail polish. As a bonus you get the Limited edition Berry Cuticle Oil. This would be a good set for someone who likes maintaining great manicures and takes care of their hands. If you have a friend who gets manicures often, or just know someone who could greatly benefit from a little cuticle oil, this would be a great little gift choice.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Holiday Spirits - Includes Icicle, Champagne Bubbles, Glittering Garlands, and  a decorative Christmas Tree bottle stopper.
China Glaze Holiday Spirits Gift set comes with three polishes, Icicle, Champagne Bubbles and Glittering Garlands. This set would be a great gift for friends, family or anyone who likes nail polish. You get three basic holiday shades that everyone would love to wear. You could create tons of fun looks with these basic and fun holiday polishes.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Holly Beary - Holly-Day, Winter Beary, and a free Holiday Bear
China Glaze Holly Beary Gift Set is so cute as a gift for little kids. This set comes with two polishes, holly-berry and holly-day with the bonus, stuffed, holiday bear complete with red holiday bow. If you know a little kid or pre-teen who loves painting their nails, pick this set for them because it comes with the bonus, cute bear as well.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Let It Snow - Blue Years Eve, Snow Globe & a free mini Snow Man Snow Globe
China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set. I think this set would be great for family and friends. You have a pretty blue polish with the amazing holographic glitter coat and the cute, little snowman globe. I think friends and family would both appreciate the little snow globe as holiday gift and the polishes are colors almost everyone would like.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Santa's Little Helpers - Includes Ring In The Red, Holly-day, Twinkle Lights, Velvet Bow
China Glaze Santa's Little Helper Set. I would recommend this set for the Polish Addicts, Trendy Girls and Holiday Fanatics. This set screams holidays and Christmas-time. You have your deep red, green, glittery red and the all out, trendy, holiday glitter polish. These are very trendy holiday polishes, making them great for teens, friends, and all the polish addicts as well. Also, if you have a friend whose favorite holiday is Christmas, they are bound to love these because this set screams quintessential Christmas. This would be my pick for best set overall, so if you are in doubt of which set you want, I'd suggest  this one.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Seasonal Sparkles - Poinsettia, Twinkle Lights, Holly-Day
China Glaze Season Sparkles Gift Set. If you want a smaller gift set than the Santa's Little Helpers Set, but want something very similar, go for this one. It is still very Holiday and fun and comes with the very gorgeous and trendy Twinkle Lights glitter polishes. This set would be great for friends and anyone you know who loves having pretty holiday-esque nails.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Sets - Meet Me Under The Mistle Tow - Ring In The Red, Velvet Bow, Glittering Garland & LipGloss
China Glaze Meet Me Under The Mistletoe . This set is the more subdued Christmas colors. If you have a friend who loves the Christmas colors and shimmers, but aren't really flashy and trendy, this set would be more  their taste. You have gorgeous, basic Christmas colors, still with fun shimmers, but they aren't as crazy as the Twinkle Lights polish. This set is great for both friends and family members. Plus, this set comes with a bonus lip gloss.

China Glaze Let It Snow Gift Set - Winter Ice - Blue Years Eve, Tinsel Town, Icicle, Snow Globe
Finally, we have the China Glaze Winter Ice Gift Set. This bundle is exactly as is states, a winter set. If you have someone who loves the cool tones and winter-like shades, this is the best choice for them. These shades are great for not only christmas, but the entire winter season. If you want a bundle that your friends will wear all throughout the winter or maybe they just aren't the christmasy holiday nails type, choose this bundle as it is more diverse and doesn't particularly scream holiday nails. It's a nice gift set with both frosts, glitters, and the holographic top coat. I think teens would love this set because you could make some great party nails for new years eve. This is also a great gift for your best friends or perhaps little sister because it comes with a sweet. little snowflake necklace, perfect to wear throughout the winter months.

That wraps-up the China Glaze Let It Snow Collection and the China Glaze Gift Sets Gift Guide. I hope my suggestions help you somewhat in deciding which collections or shades to get for yourself as well as which gift set to get for your friends and family members. My overall suggestion is to get the Santa's Little Helper Set if you want something for the Holidays and the most trendy polishes and my next best overall suggestion would be the Winter Ice Gift Set because it contains polishes that you can wear throughout the entire winter season. As far as individual polishes, you have to get Twinkle Lights! It's definitely the most unique shade of the bunch and the prettiest in my opinion : )

What do you think of the new China Glaze Let It Snow Collection. Will you be purchasing any shades? Which shade is your favorite? Are you going to pick-up any of the gift sets for your friends and family for the holidays? Leave any comments, questions or thoughts you have in the comments below!

Fall Winter 2011 Fashion Trends & Tips - How to pull off plaid, look modern in 60's patterns, be a classic pinup, and make lace both elegant and sexy.

It seems that this fall and winter there are several different types of fashion trends. Usually we see a variety, but the variety is usually somewhat similar, but this time, we have tons to choose from. Lace, plaid, vintage and heavy 60's leans are all being seen on the runways. Animal prints and lace are still big in the mainstream, while high fashion is more focused on the vintage themes.

Here's a roundup of four popular Fall and Winter 2011 Fashion Trends and handy tips on how to pull-off the look.

Trend #1. Plaid:
Plaid is everywhere. From plaid peacoats to plaid dresses, you can find almost anything in plaid at the moment. The high fashion runway models sported a more faded out plaid, mainly dresses, and a few shirts. A plaid dress can be hard to pull-off for certain body types. To pull the trend off successfully, pair your plaid dress with black leggings and a sweater to breakup the pattern just a bit. You can also add a nice scarf to pull the look together or some boots. Depending on the look you want, you could add some tan boots for more of a western feel and cowboy hats for a more western/country vibe, or for a modern chic look, wear black suede boots with leggings or jeggings and a fedora.

Trend #2. 60's:
The 60's are coming back. Cat eye glasses, vintage biker jackets with wool linings, dresses with heavy 60's floral type patterns and several jewelry pieces are looking very 60's lately. To pull off this look, wear a cute pair of vintage cat eye glasses with a 60's print dress. Pair the dress with some bright tights and a chunky boho necklace to create a 60's mod look.

Trend #3. Classic Pinup
The pinup never goes out of style, but it seems to be getting very popular now. Pencil skirts, bright red lips and snug sweaters are making their marks in fashion right now. To pull off this look get a nice dress that goes just below the knee. Depending on your body type, you can go with a hip hugging dress that's snug down to your knees to accentuate your curves and make your hips look more curvy or an A-Line dress that hugs your waist and goes out at the hips. Look for solid patterns like dark navy with white or red trim or black with a cherry print, which are both very pinup. Pair the dress with a shorter cut, snug sweater with a polka dot print or sailor type pattern, such as anchors. You can't forget a nice pair of stockings, pinups always look classy, and stockings automatically add both class and sex appeal at the same time. Curl your hair and add some red lipstick and you'll be good-to-go with the classic pinup look.

Trend #4: Lace
Lace can found any article of clothing these days. It can transform a dull outfit into something vintage, victorian, elegant, sexy, or even mod depending on how you pair it with other pieces, as well as the type you pick. The yellowed, ivory laces have a vintage feel to them, while the black lace has more of the sexy and mod look. You can go for an entire lace top or just a hat with lace trim. The important thing is to never pair more than a couple lacey themed pieces together. For example, if you have a lacey top and a lace headband, don't wear it with lace leggings, lace embroidered shoes and a lacey scarf. You will end up looking like you were attacked by the lace monster or that you just flew out of a 1980's Madonna video. But as long as you choose your pieces wisely, you can end up with a very elegant or even sexy look.

There you have a few of my favorite Fall and Winter 2011 trends. There are of course several other trends, but I think these are some of the most popular as well as some that people get confused on how to pull off and look great in. Hopefully my tips will help you in picking out an awesome new out fit for fall.

Let me know which of these trends you like the most in a comment below. If you haven't tried any of these out, do you plan on it? If you have any more questions about these trends or other fashion, please feel free to ask in the comments below.
