Milani Paint Wheel Eyeshadow Palette Swatches, Pictures, Review

Milani Cosmetics has released several new products for Summer/Fall 2011, including a new eyeshadow paint wheel. The idea of the paint wheel is to have bright colors that you can mix and blend to create several more shadows.

The new Milani Paint Wheel comes in a circular compact with six matte neon shades and one matte white. You can mix each color to create new colors or mix in the white shade to create new hues.

The Shades in the Milani Paint Wheel Are:
  • Lime Green
  • Hot Pink
  • Bright Orange
  • Bright Yellow
  • Red-Based Purple
  • Primary Blue
  • Matte White

The quality of the eyeshadow is pretty decent. At the $7-$8 price point, they are much better than a lot of drugstore eyeshadows. Also take in to consideration that you aren't going to find many other matte shadows in the drugstore, let alone bright/neon shades. The texture of the shadows is pretty soft. Some shades create a bit of fallout, though.

Pigmentation of the Paint Wheel varies from shade to shade. You have to really pack on the green to get it to show up, whereas a little dab of the orange and pink show up very brightly. The blue is okay as well, but the yellow will need some help from a base, but isn't horrible. The least pigmented and is very hard to get to show up. I'd suggest just using it for mixing purposes. The white is your average quality, matte white.

Overall, I like the new Milani Paint Wheel. It's an inexpensive way to get build your basic, bright, matte shadows.

I finally got my hands on this after driving all over town with no luck and then eventually ordering it from their website when they offered free shipping with no minimum. Mine is just like yours, with the biggest color being orange. My pink shade also bled in to the white - I thought it was just mine because it had been sitting in my hot mailbox all day 'til I got home from work. I only gave it a quick swatch on my eye over NYX Milk Pencil the other night before I hit the shower. Milk definitely helps these colors pop like crazy. I can't wait to really try it out ;)

@witchhazel - I was wondering if mine had bled from the heat as well because I ordered mine online, too. Yes, I figured the shades would have some great potential with a base. I'll be sure to try it out with Milk like you suggested.
Thanks :D
