Halle Berry 2011 Oscar Makeup

Halle Berry 2011 Oscars

Halle berry arrived at the 2011 Oscars on Sunday, February 27th in a shimmery, crystal gown. Celebrity makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua said Halle’s makeup was inspired by the gowns nude crystals and tulle.  Here is how Kara says she applied Halle's makeup for the Oscars...

  • “We played up her eyes with warm browns instead of blacks, keeping them shimmery and soft edged while defining them by smoking them up and lining the inner eye. I used Revlon Luxurious Smoky Eye Pencil in Brown Smoky, and Revlon Custom Eyes Mascara in Black."

  • "To balance out the smoky eye, but still keep her look healthy and fresh, I used peaches that are soft enough yet with enough color. I applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Horizon on her cheeks, a warm glowing peach."

  • "I lined her lips with CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Peche, a peach tone that has just enough brightness and definition, and applied CHANEL Glossimer in Petit Peche."

  • "Her base was a mixture of CHANEL Mat Lumiere Matte Fluid Makeup shades – Honey, Walnut and Chestnut, "says Kara.

Anne Hathaway 2011 Oscars Makeup

Anne Hathaway 2011 Oscars Makeup & Gown
Anne Hathaway graced the carpet at the 2011 Oscars in a satin orange-toned red gown. The gown had a trumpet fit with bows on the side and a lot of rousing at the bottom, while the layers beneath the gown had a floral pattern.
She paired the gown with dark red nails, red lips, falsies and well defined brows. Anne wore an elegant diamond necklace around her neck paired with diamond earrings.

Want to know how to duplicate Anne's Oscar makeup for under $20? Here's how...

  • Shadow - Anne is wearing neutral shadow with black liner and false lashes. You can adjust the shadow color depending on your skin tone for a 'barely there' shadow like Anne's or if you want a similar shade like Miss Hathaway, try using Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Single In Brulee $2. This shadow is super pigmented, soft and creamy.
  • Liner - Next, take a liquid black liner and make a medium line across the upper lash-line, and make it thicker as you get closer to the outer edge. My favorite drugstore liquid liner is NYC Jet Black Liner $3
  • Lashes - Now it's time for the falsies. Try the Forever21 fashion lashes in Natural Beautiful $2.80

  • Lipstick - For bright yet deepish red lips like Anne's, try using Revlon Matte Lipstick in Really Red $6
  • Brow Filler - Miss Hathaway has a very defined brows here. Try using Elf Studio Brow Kit $3 to fill in your eyebrows. This kit comes with a gel to fill the lashes and then a powder to set the gel color and make it last all night long.

How To Get Anne's Oscar Hair
  • Begin by parting the hair down the center and apply a volume enhancing styling Mousse or Gel to the hair from roots ends. Blow-dry the hair using a round brush.
  • Next, pull hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck, making sure to cover the ears. Then twist the ponytail into a loose knot. The key is keeping it loose for a touch of bohemian flair. It’s almost like a draping around the face with wispy pieces of hair coming out softly.
  • Finish the look by spraying holding Hairspray.

What do you think of Anne's makeup and gown? Who's gown or makeup did you like the best at this years Oscars? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Natalie Portman 2011 Oscars Makeup & Hair

Natalie Portman 2011 Oscars Makeup & Hair
Natalie Portman graced the red carpet of the 2011 Oscars wearing a off-the-shoulder, purple gown.
She wore heels similar to the color of her gown as well as tassel-like earrings in the same marooned purple color and a small and chic silver bracelet and ring.

The Black Swan star's aubergine gown was paired coral gloss and shimmering golden purple eyeshadow. For a pop of color, she used a peachy blush for her cheeks. Her hair was styled to the side with wavy curls.

Products Used for Natalie's Oscar Look
  • Skin: Dior Capture Totale One Essential, Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Foundation #020 and #030, Diorskin Nude Hydrating Concealer #002
  • Eyes: Dior 1-Colour Eyeshadow in #546 Gold Touch, Dior 2-Colour Eyeshadow in Purple Look #885, Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Extase Pinks #804, Diorshow Waterproof Mascara in Black, Diorshow Iconic Mascara in Navy Blue.
  • Lips: Dior Addict Lipstick #623 Infamous Pink, Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Apricot Cloche #436.
  • Cheeks: DiorBlush in Peechy Keen #553.

How-To Natalie's Oscar Hair
Apply an anti-frizz product and volumizer before blow-drying the hair smooth using a round brush. Curl the hair using a 1” curling iron to create soft and feminine waves. Next, create a foundation for the style by backcombing the bottom layers of the hair. Sweep the hair to the left side and secure with bobby pins. For a finishing touch Didier used one of Natalie’s earrings as a shimmery accent piece. Secure the look with a finishing hairspray.

Mila Kunis 2011 Oscars Makeup & Gown

Mila Kunis 2011 Oscars Makeup

Mila Kunis arrived at the 2011 Oscars on Sunday, February 27th in a feminine gown with shades of lilac and lovely lace. Celebrity makeup artist Tracey Levy says she took inspiration for her Oscar look from Mila's bold/feminine, purple gown. She desired a sultry and defined look for her makeup. Here's what she used:

  • Face: Lancome Teint Miracle Lit-from-Within Foundation, Lancome Blush Subtil in Sheer Amourose
  • Eyes: Lancome Color Design 5 Pan Palette in Coral Crush, Lancome Color Design Eye Shadow in Impress, Lancome Le Crayon Khôl EyeLiner in Black, Lancome Hypnôse Waterproof Custom Volume Mascara in Black
  • Lips: Lancome Color Fever Gloss in Blazing Pink, Lancome La Laque Fever Lipshine in Lucent Nude
I would have liked to have seen a coral/pink lip to offset with the dress, but the downplayed lips does bring more focus to her eyes. The gown is cute and feminine. I really like the lace detailing.

What do you think of Mila's gown and makeup? If you really like this look and want me to provide cheaper alternatives to the products Mila used here (so you can recreate the look for less), leave a comment and let me know.

Mac Viva Glam Gaga ii Lipstick Swatch Dupe Comparisons

MAC Cosmetics released the second edition of Viva Glam Gaga on February 17th, 2011. The original Viva Glam Gaga lipstick sold more than any other Viva Glam product and raised millions of dollars for the MAC Aids Fund, so it makes sense that they once again teamed with Lady Gaga for Viva Glam Gaga ii.

This lipstick is a nude color with a very slight coral lean. Depending on your skin tone, it may look pink undertoned or coral undertoned. Below is swatches of Viva Glam Gaga ii compared to many other similar colors. Note that you can click the pictures for a larger view.

From Left to Right: Wet N Wild 902C, NYX Honey, Viva Glam Gaga II, NYX Circe, Jordana Matte Nude, NYC Pumpkin Pi
The closet shade to gaga appears to be NYX Circe. It has a very, very slight difference and on the lips, you won't be able to tell at all. Gaga also tends to have just a bit more shine than Circe. Honey would be the next shade closest to Gaga with honey being just a tiny bit darker. If you found that Gaga is too light for you, but you really liked it, Honey may be an alternative for you. Jordana Matte Nude and Wet N Wild were a couple shades darker, with Wet N Wild being more orange toned than Gaga. Pumpkin Pie was also darker and had more of an orange tone.

Wet N Wild, NYX Honey, Gaga 2, NYX Circe
Texture wise, Gaga is much more smooth feeling than the other brands, but NYX has the closest texture to Gaga but has just a bit more slippery feel to it. Jordana and Wet N Wild are both mattes so they have a much drier texture than Gaga.

Scent wise, the Jordana Matte Nude has a vanilla scent very similar to Gaga, but the Jordana is more subtly scented than Gaga.

Who will love this lipstick?
-Fans of light nudes such as myth, creme d' nude, etc
-People who love mac amplified creme finishes
-Gaga's little monsters
-Pale skin tones because this is actually light enough to be nude for you

Who won't like this lipstick?
-Medium skin tones who dislike the concealer lip look (unless you wear a gloss over it)
-People who don't like vanilla scents

Overall, I like the Viva Glam Gaga ii lipstick better than the other lipsticks because it wears longer and feels the creamiest, although NYX is a great lipstick for a fraction of the price. But keep in mind that all of the money for the Viva Glam lipstick is going to charity. Hopefully these swatches and comparisons helped you out with your decision on whether or not to purchase the lipstick.

What do you think of the new Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipstick? Have you tried it or are you planning to try it?  Comment below and let me know.

New Spring 2011 Elf Mineral Eyeshadow, Swatches, Review, Pictures

Eyes Lips Face/Elf has added four new shades to their mineral eyeshadow collection for the spring/summer season. The shades are Beachy - a dark blue with blue shimmer, Dreamy - an aqua/turquoise with shimmer, Outdoorsy- Very deep blackish green with green shimmer, Smoldering -A purple toned gray.

Swatched above from left: Beachy, Dreamy, Outdoorsy, Smoldering

Beachy is a dark blue and appears matte on the skin, but has blue glitter when it hits the light. The texture of this shade is different from the other three colors since it isn't as shimmery.

Dreamy is a really pretty aqua shade. I thought it was going to be much more turquoise/green toned according to the pictures on the elf website, but its more aqua/blue with turquoise leans. This shade is very shimmery like most of the mineral shadows and is extremely metallic looking when used wet.

Outdoorsy is perhaps my favorite elf mineral shadow ever. It appeared to be just a dark green on the website, but it is more of a black dipped green with gorgeous green shimmer. I don't have any colors close to this and it is super pretty to use for smokey looks and would even work as an eyeliner. If you are going to pick one shade, choose outdoorsy.

Smoldering is a silver with purple undertones to it. It almost appears to have a duochrome if you use it wet, but not quite. It appears kind of metallic even when used dry and this would be great used as an eyeliner as well as a shadow.

Overall, I really like the elf mineral shadow line. My favorite shade is from these is definitely Outdoorsy and my least favorite is Beachy because I like more of a shimmery finish to my mineral shadows. All the shades are very pigmented, smooth and easily blended. They are an amazing deal for only $3 a shade.

Rating For Elf Mineral Eyeshadows
Product: 19/20
Packaging: 3/5
Value: 5/5
User Friendly: 5/5
Overall: 92%

Physicians Formual Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio for Green Eyes

Physicians Formula has released a new set of eyeliner trios in the shimmer strips collection. This set comes with three liners customized to enhance and define green eyes.

The three shades found in this trio are customized by look, which are: Natural - an olive green with a bit of green shimmer, Playful - described as amethyst but leans more toward plum, and Dramatic - black with purple shimmer.

The package claims these have 24 hour wear, are water resistant and smudge resistant. I have to say, these really do live up to the claim. They do not budge at all. I even rubbed the swatches on my hand over-and-over and they did not move even a slight bit.

As far as pigmentation, these are decent and lived up to my expectations for color payoff. They actually show on my eye rather well (i usually have a hard time finding liners that will mark on my eye for some reason.). Considering you get three liners for ten dollars, these are a great deal. You are paying a little more than $3 per liner. Below are swatches of the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strip Eyeliners

The packaging is pretty for these liners. The color of each liner matches the color of the packaging and each tube has a metallic, shiny finish. This makes it much easy to tell which shade you are grabbing because the tubes are really bright and shine the same color of the liner.

Overall, if you are looking for a nice smudge-proof automatic liner from the drugstore, these are a great option. For a couple dollars more than most single pack auto-liners, you get two extra colors as well as the amazing long-wear.

Who will like these liners?
-People looking for smudge-proof, long wear liners.
-Those wanting a variety of colors in one pack for a low cost.
-People who like customized shades for their eye color.
-Someone looking for a bit of sparkle(the black has really pretty purple glitter).

Who may not like these?
-Those who hate glitter, although the glitter is very subtle and not in all the shades.
-People who want extreme pigmentation like a liquid liner. These are pigmented, but not as much as gel and liquid liners.

Overall Rating For Physicians Formula Custom Eye Trio Eyeliner for Green Eyes:
Value: 5/5
Ease of Use: 5/5
Packaging: 5/5
Overall: 90%

What do you think the Physicians Formula Eyeliner Trio? Do you want to try them or have you tried them already. If you have tried them, what do you think? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Revlon False Eyelashes and Brush Precision Glue

I recently received some new eyelashes from Revlon. The pairs I will be reviewing are 91217 Luxurious, 91170 Dramatic 3x Volume and 99500 Intensifying.

The most unique pair is the Intensifying lashes and they are also the most beginner friendly. I think these are perfect to start with because they come with self-adhesive strips, meaning you don't have to use glue on them. Applying the glue and placing the lashes can be a big mess for beginners, so this will give you a huge advantage during application.

These are also great if you have glue allergies or latex allergies because the lashes are latex free and of course, you don't have to apply glue to them. The lashes even come with an extra set of adhesive strips, so you can wear them again. The downside is, after two wears, you'll be out of strips and I don't know if they sell these adhesive strips separately. As for the style of the lashes, these are very lightweight and natural looking. These would be great for everyday wear just to give you a little bit extra volume.

The dramatic 3x volume lashes really do give you quite a lot of volume, maybe even more than 3x. These would be great for parties or nights where you want to look extra glamorous. Dramatic lashes are perfect to wear with smokey because I think if you do an extra dark eye, it's hard to get the normal looking falsies to show up. The only disadvantage I can think of for these is that they may be too dramatic for some people. Personally, these are my favorites because I love to have as much volume as I can get and like my eyes to look dramatic.

The luxurious lashes are my favorite style to wear as an everyday lash. I like to have a bit a drama, but not too much, for my everyday wear. Some women may see these as great date night lashes or even party lashes, depending on how dramatic you get with your falsies. These include the cute crisscross texture you may have noticed some lashes having. I know I'm a fan of the crossed lashes because they seem to blend in well with my real lashes.

Finally, we have the new Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive. The neat thing about this glue is that it comes with a brush, rather than a squeeze-out tube. This is something else I would recommend for beginners because it makes glue application much easier. You can place the glue precisely where you need it and will be less likely to apply too much or make a mess. The one think I have noticed with this glue is that you need to apply a little extra to the and outer corners so the lashes will stick all day. This will vary from person-to-person, though.

Overall, I highly recommend the Revlon Lashes and Precision Lash Adhesive. The self-adhesive lashes are something new to me and I found them really interesting as well as time saving. The dramatic lashes are going to be great for events and smokey eyes, and the luxurious lashes are my favorites for everyday wear.

What do you think of the new Revlon lashes and Precision Lash Adhesive? Would you like to try these out? Or if you already have tried them, what did you think? Leave a comment below and let me know

How To Achieve Flawless Skin in 7 Easy Steps (Updated)

Step One: Remove all dirt and oil from your face with face-wash and exfoliate if your skin is looking dull. Exfoliating is necessary to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin feeling soft and looking bright.

Step Two: Apply moisturizer and/or a makeup primer. Moisturizer is important to keep skin soft and help prevent the skin from aging. The primer will provide a nice smooth base for your makeup.

Step Three: Use concealer underneath the eyes and on any discoloration
or spots on the face. If you have a lot of redness, which is typically found around the sides of the nose or on the chin, apply a dab of green concealer and blend out. I've found that a yellow-based concealer works best under the eyes.

Step Four: Grab your usual foundation. I recommend trying out Revlon ColorStay because it stays on better than any foundation I've ever tried. This foundation also has formulas for both combo/oily and normal/dry skin and comes in variety of different shades. To achieve flawless looking skin with a more airbrushed look, I recommend to apply the foundation with a stippling brush and use a patting motion to spread the foundation out. Do not spread it with your fingers. It is okay to dab on foundation and later spread it out with a brush, if preferred, but fingers will get dirt and oil on your face and in your pores. Also, do not use a sponge unless you plan on tossing it afterward. Using a sponge several times without washing it will cause a growth of bacteria and you will be spreading the bacteria all over your skin.

Step Five: Apply an High Definition finishing powder. My favorite version of HD powder is elf studio high definition powder. While applying the powder, use a flat topped brush. Be sure to tap off excess powder on the brush before applying it to your face. Do Not rub the brush all over the face. Use a dabbing motion, the same way you applied the foundation and buff the powder into your skin.

Step Six:  Blush. I recommend using a fluffy angled brush to apply your blush.
Start at the apples of your cheeks and be sure not to start too close to the nose area, which is a common mistake people make. Then, blend backwards and up towards your temples. Apply more lightly the higher up you get and stop when you get about to the level of your eyes. This will provide you with more color and make your skin look more alive and have a healthy glow to it.

Step Seven: If you would like your face to have a dewy glow, you will need a highlighter. If you have a shimmery blush in lighter shade, that will work also. Simply take the highlighter on a small brush and starting at a point that looks about the middle of your eye, apply the highlighter to the very top of your cheek bone. Curve the highlight around from that middle eye level as if you were going to draw a C shape while following the bone, but stop just before getting to the level of the corner of your eye. You may also apply a little highlighter on the forehead and on the cupids bow above your lip, depending on how much of a glow you want. Just be careful not to apply too much.

Now you should have flawless looking skin. Enjoy :)

Teal and Gold Eyeshadow Look with Wet n Wild

Teal and Gold Eyeshadow Look with Wet n Wild
My latest eyeshadow look was a combination of teal, blue, and gold colors. I used all Wet N Wild Eyeshadow, mainly the beautiful teal color found in the Blue Had Me At Hello Palette. I think it looks similar to a mermaid look as well. Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to get this look.

1. Prime Eyes:
Use your favorite primer all over your lid area to prep the lid for color. This also helps brighten the colors and gives them a little something to hold on to, resulting in longer lasting, brighter colors. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion

2. Use a Base(optional): You can use a base for your eyeshadow if you want to intensify the colors even more or if you are working with loose pigments, it will help them stick better. This can also help intensify color out of shadows that aren't very pigmented. This is optional, of course, I actually didn't need to use a base because these shadows are super pigmented.

3. Apply Teal Halfway Over Lid: The first shade I applied was the teal color in the Wet N' Wild Blue Had Me At Hello 8 Pan Eyeshadow Palette. I applied the shade first to the crease and outer corner and then went in just a little past halfway on my lid.

4. Apply Deep Blue to Outer Corner:
Next, I applied the darkest navy blue in the Blue Had Me palette to the outer corner to provide some depth to the shadow. You can also work this up into your crease if you want even more depth.

5. Apply Gold: I next took a gold color, second shade on the right in the Wet N Wild Vanity Palette. I started in the center of my lid, overlapping the teal, to form a nice golden green color, then to the empty part of the lid and inner corner. Now we have a nice gradient of dark blue, teal, golden green and then gold.

6. Blending:
If you haven't blended the colors already, you will want to do so now. Make sure there is a smooth transition in between the colors and most importantly, that there aren't any harsh lines above the colors. If you don't run a brush over the top where the colors meet the skin and blend it out, you may look really silly.

It looks a bit darker in this pic than in reality because no flash was used in this one, but this picture shows the blending part the best.

7. Highlight: Next, take a color a shade or two lighter than you skintone and apply it under the brow-bone. This will help give your eye a lift and brighten the look.

8. Eyeliner:
Apply a really thin line of black liquid liner to the top lashes. Then apply a black liner to the water-line and lower lashes. I then used the green Covergirl LiquidLine Blast pencil below the black liner. You could just use the teal or gold eyeshadow underneath as well if you don't have the covergirl pencil. I used nyc jet black for the liquid liner and Physicians Formula gel liner on the bottom lash-line.

9. Mascara: Apply two coats of a lengthening mascara to top and bottom lashes. Here I used Maybelline The Falsies Mascara.

10. Done!: You're now done with the eyes. I then followed-up with a nice peachy blush and a cheek highlight for that glowy look. Then add your choice of lipstick. :D

I hope you enjoyed this teal and gold eyeshadow tutorial. Leave a comment below letting me know if you like it and if you think you may try the look out. :)

Make Over Your Room!

I've recently found some really cute room accessories onsale at a few places. I'm planning on redoing my room this spring and haven't quite decided on what I want yet. I know I want something bright and colorful, with both a girly and modern twist. Anyway, here are few tips on making over your room, while you letting you on what I'm thinking of doing for my own room. First, I'm going to suggest the website Become because they have many different items to choose from as well as price comparison from other sites.

To start off, either pick your new bedding or pick your paint color. Sometimes it's just easier to find your new comforter first, then pick your paint colors to go along with it. I know personally, I've painted my room first and then found bedding I was totally in love with, but sadly it didn't match the paint.

I found seventeen bedding on this site & it's 50% off right now, which is awesome! And you can click the colors you are interested in on the side bar of the site to narrow down your choices. When I was twelve, I had some seventeen bedding in a cute purple leopard print and had leopard boarder on my purple walls... and matching curtains too! haha :)

Anyway, a neat thing I found about this site is that you pick and sort by color. Say you pick black, then it pulls up all the bedding with black in it. It makes it way easier to go through choices that way. Keep in mind that sites have handy tools like this now which can make it much easier on you when looking for new accessories.

After you find your bedding half the work is done, because now you have a focal point for your room and a color to base everything else on. Personally, I really like the Sascha set best, it's the second set here. Which one do you guys like? I'd love it if you give me some suggestions of which ones you think are cute. :)

Next, is something every girl wants... a makeup vanity! My next big thing I've been wanting for my room makeover is a nice dressing tables with mirror, aka a vanity. I've been wanting one for the longest time, especially since I've become makeup obsessed. I found a few cute ones here, but vanities are a little pricey. Here I found different ones from ebay and lots of other sites, which is nice so you can compare your prices.

Which brings me to a huge tip. It's really important to shop around when looking for new decorations or key pieces to your room makeover. The same vanity may be $200 less from this seller than it is from a different one. Which vanity do you like the best on the first page? I'm really liking the large black tri table one, but I may opt for a cheaper one. We'll see. Let me know if you guys know a great place for vanities or if this site seems to be in the same price range as most others.

Next, I'm thinking about putting a new, funky looking chair in my room. I was looking for something in hot pink, and I found this moon chair. As you can see it's made with kids in mind, but if you are pre-teen, teen or just a kid at heart, I think this would be something funky you could add. Plus, it folds up, so you can easily store it when you need extra space or move it into another room. I'm not sure that would really fit with my theme, and will probably keep looking, but I thought it looked neat and wanted to share it with you anyway.

So after you pick your bedding, a piece of furniture, and a new chair or some random funky item, it's safe to say you can get your paint color now. I'm thinking about cherry pink. Speaking of paint, you can use it for more than your walls during your room make over, which brings me to my next tip...

My last random tip is painting your furniture! Almost everyone is some sort of budgest these days, so to save money, you can always paint our furniture for a completely different look. Or, say you found a vanity on the become website, but you didnt like the color. Maybe you wanted something hot pink or lime green? I'm totally with you there. It's usually much easier and cheaper to buy a normal colored piece and then paint/decorate it yourself. And keep in mind spending a day redoing a piece of furniture for the room can also be a fun bonding experience to have with your friends, kids, parents, etc. Not only will you save money, but you will be making memories, haha, that sounds cheesy, but it's true. :)

Are any of you planning on a room make over this spring? If so what colors do you want or if you aren't, what does your room look like now? Oh, and don't forget to leave me suggestions for my own room make over! Comment below

Dresses & Handbags from Bluefly

You may or may not have heard about the site Bluefly, but they have some really cute dresses and handbags. It's said to be 'the ultimate hookup for the fashion obsessed.'

First, let's talk about their dresses. They carry a variety of choices including sun dresses, evening dresses, and some could even pass as a prom dress. They have several designers and colors to choose from and for a huge discount.

As a plus, the site has great navigation. You can narrow down your options by price, brand and even color. Say you want a black dress, under $300, and by the designer Alice And Oliva - Rather than search through pages and pages of dresses, simply click your choices in and presto, you have all the black Alice And Oliva dresses before you. Which dresses do you like most? This dress caught my eye. I really like purple and the little bow/sash is cute.

Next, I want to tell you about their designer handbags. Not only are they cute, but they are worth the extra money because they will last you for years and years. The same navigation options that were available for the dresses are also included on the handbags section. They have all the designer choices you can think of from YSL, Marc Jacobs, and more. Which bag do you like most?

And the best part to me is, of course, they are all 40% off the retail prices! And I have to mention that they are currently having a presidents day sale with up to 75% off some items. They periodically have sales for other holidays as well, so be on the lookout for those and you could snag an amazing deal on a designer handbag, , evening dress, or other fashion items.

Have you ever shopped with bluefly? Which items do you like best from the site? Leave a comment and let me know.

Picture/Logo belongs to, of course. :)

NYX Round Lipstick (Updated)

I recently purchased a few NYX round lipsticks in the shades of strawberry milk, paris, fig, frappucino, circe, and pumpkin pie. These lipsticks feel very smooth, creamy and moisturizing. As you can tell from the picture swatches below, these are also very pigmented. I think NYX lipsticks are one of the best lip colors in their price range ($3-$4).

Pictured above and swatched below from left to right; strawberry milk, paris, fig, frappucino, circe, and pumkin pie.

Strawberry Milk is a very light, baby pink shade with a creme finish. It's similar to MAC Viva Glam Gaga and Saint Germain.
Paris is a nice medium pink color with a slight blue undertone and has a creme finish.
Fig is medium coral shade with pink leans.  This is a nice everyday shade for those who love pinks.
Frappucino is a nice natural lip color with neutral to slight coral undertones.
Circe is a nude color, similar to MAC Myth and is best suited for lighter skintones or for medium tones who want a concealer type of lip (keep in mind a gloss can be used over this to darken it up a bit).
Pumpkin Pie is another nude shade, but with a coral/orange tone. Pumkin Pie is great for those wanting a nude lip with warm undertones.

I would definitely recommend trying these out if you haven't already. NYX lipsticks are available in a variety of shades and can be purchased at Ulta Stores, &

Who Would Like These Lipsticks?
-Those wanting a nicely pigmented lipstick for a great value.
-People looking for a large color selection of lipsticks

Who may not enjoy these lipsticks?
-Those looking for a longwear or transfer resistant lipstick because these only last around 3 hours.
-People who do not like making online purchases, as these are available in limited stores and may or may not be found near you.

Rating For NYX Lipsticks
User Friendly:5/5
Value/Price: 5/5
Overall: 95%

Hayley Williams Paramore Makeup 53rd Grammys 2011

Hayley Williams, singer for the awesome rock band, Paramore, is known for her spunky fashion sense and bright orange/red hair. Tonight at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, she wore a sheer black and hotpink dress. The dress had black sequins, see-thru netting around the tummy area and the bottom was like a hotpink tutu. She's paired the look with black tights and black heels. She also sported tangerine red hair with matching lipstick, and a bright lime/green and yellow eyeshadow look.

I love her bright hair and bright eyeshadow. Hot pink and black is always great combo and I even like the little tutu. I would change the see-thru tummy section of the dress, but it does add quirkiness to the look, which makes it very Hayley.

Want to know which products to choose for this makeup look?

For this bright look, you'll want to use some extremely pigmented shadows. I recommend starting off by covering the lids with a bright green. Try Sugarpill Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadow in Midori. Then, take a bright yellow shadow, Sugarpill Buttercupcake and halfway overlap the green. This will give you an effect of bright green, then lime green, then yellow. Also, take the yellow and highlight the inner corners of your eyes with it.
Liner. I haven't found a large close-up of Miss Williams, but I think she is wearing black liner. Take a black pencil liner like Urban Decay Zero and line your lower lash-line.
Falsies. Hayley appears to be wearing some false lashes on the outer corners of her eyes. Here's a trick so you don't have to go buy a special pair of half lashes. Take a pair of your normal falsies and cut them in-half. Now you can use them on the corners of each eye : )
Brows. If you want to go all-out, you can get a red/orange lip liner and line your eyebrows resulting in a red/orange brown like Williams.

Hayley is wearing an orange/red lipstick. Estee Lauder Extravagant Red Lipstick has a heavy orange leans like Hayley's.

Do you like Hayley's look? Who's look did you like the most at the Grammy's? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Rhianna 53rd Annual Grammy Makeup

Rhianna attended the Grammy's in a... special dress. It kind of reminds me of Christmas Garlands. Anyway, her makeup was pretty and unique. She was wearing a pink eyeshadow look with a two-toned berry and red lip.

Want to know how to get Rhianna's Makeup from the 53rd Annual Grammy's? Here's How:

You'll want to find a trio or quad of pinks. Put the light pink all over the lid, the darkest pink in the crease and then use the medium pink to blend-out the top of the crease to better blend with your skin. MAC Wonder Woman Eyeshadow Quad in Defiance has multiple shades of pink that will work for this look.
*Next apply several coats of lengthening Mascara to the top and bottom lashes (such as Maybelline The Falsies Mascara) or you can apply a pair false lashes.

Rhianna used several shades of lipsticks to create an ombre effect. Start by lining your lips with a dark red/berry shade. Next, apply a light red all over the lips and then a medium to dark red on the outer portion of the lips. Try using NYX Round Lipstick in Electra and Snow White.

What do you think of Rhianna's look? Who's look did you like the best at the Grammy's? Leave a comment below and let me know.
