Mac recently released a new collection of Viva Glam lipsticks featuring a light blue-pink shade designed by Lady Gaga, and a rusty coral red designed by Cyndi Lauper.
Each tube features special red lettering on the outside, and a red metal inside with each of the celebritie's signatures. The purpose of the red coloring is for AIDS awareness. All of the proceeds from the Viva Glam Line of lipsticks go to the Mac AIDS fund.
Pictured above and swatched below, Viva Glam Gaga and a popular similar shade to compare, Saint Germain.
I prefer the Saint Germain lipstick to the Viva Glam Gaga, but each are pretty shades. The benefits of Viva Glam Gaga are that it is a buildable color, meaning you can layer it several times to achieve the pigmentation desired, and it also has a slight sheen because it is a lustre finish.
The Saint Germain lipstick is an amplified creme and is much more rich and creamy. It requires only one coat for a full opaque finish. I prefer the amplified cremes to all other finishes of Mac lipsticks. However, these lipsticks usually have a more matte finish, so if you desire a shiny look to your lips, the Viva Glam Gaga in the lustre finish would be best for you.
Mac lipsticks can be found at most department stores that have makeup centers, mac stores, mac pro stores, www.maccosmetics.com and www.shop.nordstrom.com
